An International Mining Group with operations in Malawi has created a new vacancy for an experienced self starter with a strong technical and commercial Mining background take control and ownership of arranging and managing the setting up and development of the Johannesburg Expediting Office together with the Malawian Mine Supply Chain Manager. This will entail:

 
bullet Taking ownership of the expediting function and ensuring that the expediting is performed at best practice levels.
bullet Interacting with both the Mine Supply Chain Manager and the Maintenance Manager in ensuring that all parts are delivered to the mine timeously and thereby ensuring that planned maintenance is not delayed
bullet Undertaking local purchasing in Johannesburg on behalf of the mine when required. This could in time develop into a fully fledged purchasing role for all RSA based orders including the development of supply contracts.
bullet Assisting with improving cost savings by sourcing alternate local suppliers and better bargaining of prices with current suppliers
bullet Performing ad hoc projects as required by either the Mine Supply Chain Manager or the Mine C&A Manager

To obtain a comprehensive understanding of the mine plant components being ordered, the successful applicant would be required to spend at least one week at the Malawian Mine site at inception.
